Marie Carter is an internationally recognized artist residing in New York. Her artwork has been showcased in numerous publications, including Lapidary Journal, Belle Armoire, and Wire Artist Jeweler as well as Larks Books publications (Contemporary Bead and Wire Jewelry, Beading with Charms, Beading with Pearls and Beading with Crystals).
Marie’s work focuses on creating lifetime pieces that are comfortable, versatile, and special to the wearer. She learned how to fabricate jewelry in classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology as well as Brookfield Craft Center and the 92nd Street Y, developing skills that allow her to share her thoughts through each piece.
Marie’s most recent work focuses on using argentium silver and gold to create items that balance both positive and negative space. Texturing, with wrapping and weaving of gemstones, are commonly used techniques to bring out both the modern and ancient themes that dance in her mind.
